SICK, Inc: Introducing the CVS Color Vision Sensors

The new Color Vision Sensor (CVS) product line from SICK provides advanced functionality in a small package. Each of the four available varieties of the CVS makes color inspection over a larger field of view simple and easy. The CVS body is a compact 1.33" x 1.65" x 3.74" (34x42x95mm) polycarbonate enclosure with an IP 67 rating. Each version comes with integrated white LED lighting and a built-in keypad and color display for setup. Is lighting or mounting space still a problem? Optional external lighting can supplement or replace the integrated lighting, and an optional remote programming unit duplicates the keypad and color display at a distance. Choose from simple color sensors with field of view up to 3.9" x 4.5" (100x115mm), contour verification sensors, or optical character readers with a serial interface.

SICK|Stegmann: User-Programmable Incremental Encoders

Gone are the days when a choice must be made between unwieldy spare parts stocking or long lead-times on critical encoders. The new DRS 61 incremental encoders from SICK|Stegmann can be programmed for any code resolution from 1 to 8,192 pulses per revolution using the available programming kit. Now only a few spare parts can fulfill the requirements of hundreds of jobs!

The DRS 61 is only the first in a new series of programmable encoders from SICK|Stegmann. Identical to the DRS 60 incremental encoder in form factor, the DRS 61 is available in solid shaft and hollow shaft models, with a variety of power and connection options. Programming is accomplished using an optional programming kit that includes software and a USB programming cable. The program allows the user to set the code resolution to any number between 1 and 8,192, and to switch the width of the zero pulse between 90 and 180 degrees.

SICK, Inc: ZoneControl ZPA Conveyor Trial Program

The Zero-Pressure Accumulation (ZPA) solution from SICK, Inc., known as ZoneControl, can now be qualified on location with no risk. The ZoneControl system is a flexible system of photoelectric sensors with built-in ZPA controls. Unlike standard mechanical sensors, photoelectric sensors do not rely on weight for presence sensing, and will therefore detect the lightest of packages with a practically unlimited life-span.

Under the new Conveyor Upgrade Program, SICK, Inc. will provide and install a ZoneControl upgrade system for a no-risk trial. If the system does not perform satisfactorily, SICK will restore the conveyors to their original operating condition.
