SICK, Inc. has added a rugged IP67 rated remote I/0 bus nodes to their UE4400 series of DeviceNet Safety Intelligent Interfaces. These bus nodes integrate safety sensors and actuators into a flexible control system using DeviceNet Safety. The units are designed with 6 dual-channel safety inputs and 2 dual-channel, bipolar safety outputs. The UE4450 products can also intelligently integrate SICK machine safeguarding devices such as C4000 Safety Light Curtains and S3000 Safety Laser Scanners into the DeviceNet Safety™ field bus network using SICK Safety Data Link (SDL) technology. This provides customers with advanced diagnostic capability and reduces the number of DeviceNet Safety node addresses required. Configuration can be done locally or remotely though DeviceNet.

SICK is pleased to present the PLG line of Pick2Light Light Grids - a low-cost, easy-to-integrate solution for assembly and bin picking applications.

The Pick2Light system combines three components and accompanying wiring into one package. The traditional two-piece through-beam system has been replaced with a retro-reflective light grid that uses an integrated reflector on the back of the next unit. Only one unit is required for each bin, with a single reflector mounted on the end of each row. Additionally, an integrated 360-degree visible job LED eliminates the need for a seperate indicator. One unit and one cable per bin! The Pick2Light units are available in five detection heights from 120mm to 420mm with a range of up to 2 meters.
